Coorong Surf Mulloway
Coorong, SA, Australia · Saltwater · Intermediate
The wild surf beaches of the Coorong and Murray Mouth are South Australia's premier land-based mulloway fishery. Long beaches, big gutters, and the chance of a genuine metre-plus fish from the sand.
Getting there & access
- Fish from: land-based
The Coorong ocean beach is 4WD-access only and experience in soft sand driving is essential; a permit is required for each vehicle and there are no facilities on the beach. The beach north of Tea Tree Crossing is closed to vehicles from 24 October to 24 December each year to protect nesting hooded plovers. Ocean beach conditions change with erosion and dune collapses, and NPWS does not recommend driving at night or towing trailers there. Call NPWS on (08) 7133 7270 for current conditions.
