Lansstyrelsen Vasterbotten manages the Vindelalven between Mankeforsen and Sarngejukkes as a quota water: permits are allocated by lottery, applications are open from 1 January to 30 April, results are announced from the second half of May, and you can apply for up to five fishing days. Fly fishing with a fly rod only applies on most quota waters, catch reporting is mandatory, and the season on the Vindelalven runs from 1 July to 20 August. Children under 16 go free with a guardian. Check the county board page for the current application rules.

Regulations and requirements
- The Vindelalven between Mankeforsen and Sarngejukkes is quota-managed: a lottery permit from Lansstyrelsen Vasterbotten is required (applications 1 January to 30 April), not an ordinary fiskekort
